Opportunity image

Abbey Pumping Station and Belgrave Hall and Gardens are looking for volunteers to join their flourishing gardening groups. The Abbey Pumping Station Group meet on Wednesday and the Belgrave group generally meet on a Thursday and due to the popularity of this group volunteer opportunities also sometimes take place on other days in the week.

Volunteers are required to work in the beautiful historic gardens of Belgrave Hall or the majestic grounds of Abbey Pumping Station . Willingness to work and learn is more important than gardening experience, although there are opportunities for volunteers with an interest in particular aspects of heritage gardens. Tasks include all aspects of garden maintenance. Abbey Pumping Station also has it's own allotment space and volunteers are welcome to help determine what is grown here.

• Volunteers need to be interested in plants and gardens and have a genuine desire to work outside, doing gardening.

• Volunteers must be willing to learn new skills and techniques.

• Volunteers must be interested in working in a heritage site which is used by the public.
