Our Black Care Oral History Project is about going out into the community and speaking with people from the Black community who have experienced being in care of the local authority at some point in their life and recording their stories. We want to shed light on this lived experience so we as a society can acknowledge it and learn from it. The project will see our facilitators and volunteers go out and spread the word in order to find people to participate, meet with them, get to know them, build relationships and record their stories to be stored into the oral history archive at the University of Leicester.
