Festival Volunteer

Leicester City Council’s Festival and Events team run a wide-ranging programme of Festivals throughout the year including St George’s Festival, Riverside Festival, Diwali, Abbey Park Bonfire and Leicester’s Christmas Lights Switch On.

Volunteers support many areas of the Festivals working directly with the public and helping them access the activities on offer.

Volunteer roles at Festivals include;

• Surveying the public • Assisting in the dressing of festival sites • Assisting in arts and crafts activities • Assisting festival assistants and officers • Sign-posting the public around the events site • Other duties may be required during or after the event • Opportunities for character walkabout performances at themed events

Festivals volunteering usually takes place outdoors and volunteers must be willing to work outdoors and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
