Summer Reading Challenge Volunteer

There’s a fantastic opportunity to volunteer in libraries this July and August to support the 2023 Summer Reading Challenge “Ready, Set, Read”. This year’s theme celebrates the key role of imagination in both sports and games. Every year we provide a programme of free activities and events around the city to encourage children to keep reading during their long summer holidays. Hopefully this will help develop a lifelong passion for reading and using the city’s libraries. Offering to volunteer on the programme is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in reading, libraries, sports and games or in working with children and families. You can volunteer as much or as little as you like. Our volunteers always have great fun, make new friends and provide much valued summer activities to Leicester Children and their families. All volunteers will be invited to a pre-summer briefing where we will fully explain the programme and answer any questions you have. Please read our full role description for more information.
