Emergency Volunteer

We are looking for Emergency Volunteers who are able to respond during major emergency incidents, such as explosions, large gas leaks, extensive flooding or fires leading to evacuations. The role of a volunteer is crucial in being able to support those affected by a crisis. We require a large pool of volunteers to be able to staff emergency centres for when these situations do arise.

Anyone can apply to become a volunteer - you will ideally be someone who works well with people, be empathetic towards others, keen to help in a crisis and be willing to be contacted at short notice when a serious incident does occur.

Volunteers are also provided with a half-day training course to aid them in their role, including refresher courses and practical exercises for emergency situations. Volunteers can receive additional training to equip them to support survivors or the family and friends of those killed or seriously injured as the result of such an incident.
